For the poodle who has everything: In the early ‘50s Hammer Schlemmer offered a gold dog collar donning a Swiss watch. This photo was taken by famed photographer Yale Joel in November of 1953 and featured in LIFE magazine.

Great colorized photo of pilot trainee, Shirley Slade, who was a member of WASP (Women Airforce Service Pilots). Slade was one of about 1,100 chosen for the program and trained at Avenger Field in Sweetwater, Texas. Slade sported pigtails,GI coveralls and a great wristwatch as she posed on the wing of her Army trainer for this image, which appeared on the July 19, 1943 cover of LIFE magazine.
